WBX stands for World Bet Exchange, and is an online bet exchange designed to act as a broker for Members wishing to place bets with each other on the outcome of an event. WBX operates on similar principles to a fully 'open to the public' Stock Exchange. Members deposit funds with the Exchange in advance to cover their potential liabilities, known as exposure. Any Member can offer bets on the Exchange, and all Members can see the bets on offer. Bets are matched on a 'first come, first served' basis. The settlement of all transactions is guaranteed by WBX. WBX charges commission for its services and facilitation of transactions, but unlike a bookmaker WBX takes no financial risk in any transaction. As a market facilitator, WBX is not concerned with the actual prices or the details of the bets offered and accepted.
