Doncaster Racecourse is one of the oldest and most prestigious horse racing venues in the United Kingdom. It is located in the town of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, and is home to some of the most iconic races in the British racing calendar, including the St Leger Stakes, the world's oldest Classic horse race, first run in 1776.. Doncaster also stages the first and last turf race meetings of the Flat season; starting with the Lincoln Meeting in March and ending on November Handicap day


The racecourse was first established in 1776 and has been hosting horse racing ever since. It is a large, sprawling complex with a capacity of over 60,000 spectators. The racecourse has two main tracks: the Town Moor Course, which is used for flat racing, and the South Course, which is used for National Hunt racing.

The Town Moor Course is a flat oval track that is approximately 2 miles and 2 furlongs (3.7 kilometers) in circumference. It is a right-handed track with a straight of 1 mile and 4 furlongs (2.6 kilometers). The Town Moor Course is considered to be one of the fastest flat racing tracks in the United Kingdom.
